Rem Choke is one of the most common threads in the country. That means there's no shortage of options for your 870, 1100, or 11-87.
Find the Comp-N-Choke that Fits Your Remington Choke System
Most Remington shotguns run the Rem Choke system, one of the most widely supported threads in the industry. However, because a handful of over-bored target and trap barrels use the separate Rem Pro-Bore system instead, the two aren't interchangeable. Here's how to make sure you get the Comp-N-Choke for your shotgun:
1. Confirm your gauge.
Chokes are gauge-specific—12-gauge, 20-gauge, and so on—regardless of which Remington system you're running.
2. Confirm your choke system.
Remington doesn't stamp the choke system on the barrel as plainly as some brands do. The 870, 1100, 11-87, and 887 all run standard Rem Choke; a smaller number of over-bored target and trap barrels use Pro-Bore instead. If you're not sure which you have, check whether your factory choke tube reads "Rem Choke" or "Pro-Bore," or confirm against your model number.
3. Select your choke.
- Improved Cylinder opens the pattern for close, fast targets like flushing quail or skeet.
- Modified and Full tighten it down for passing waterfowl, longer clays presentations, or turkey.
Comp-N-Choke tubes are USA-made stainless steel, hold a consistent pattern shot after shot, and swap in seconds with just your fingers, whether you're moving straight from a morning hunt to an afternoon at the range.
